No chassis or mechanical work to do, just waiting for the motor from the engine builder, and put a fresh coat of paint on–then we’re off to the races!
Finally got the #16 Adrenaline Chevy on the track for the end of the season at Delaware. Everything ran fairly smoothly, unfortunately the brake master cylinder died so we weren’t able to place in the feature. At least we made it, and can look forward to a great season in 2011!
Better late than never, the transmission is in, car’s basically done, just gotta set the alignment tomorrow and install the rev limiter. Should see action this Friday, if it passes tech.
Had the Delaware orientation and registration meeting last night… Did a whole bunch of work the weekend before. The seat mount is now sturdier, more correct, and lower and further forward too. Just need to clean up the interior and give it a fresh coat of paint, then mount the seat for good.
Engine’s come together nicely, just waiting for a set of intake bolts and then we’ll put the intake and distributor in. After that, it’s just a matter of figuring out the power steering hoses and the engine is ready to fire.
Only a few major pieces of the puzzle left: button up the transmission and drop it in, hang exhaust on the car, and finish the rear end. Then it’s off to another shop for an alignment and scaling, and she’s ready for the races!
NOM NOM NOM… Vortec heads and Center-Dump Manifolds. All of a sudden the engine won’t be a joke.
Also a fun pic of the Carquest Machine Shop. Well, a small section of the machine shop.

Well here we are entering September and, obviously, we haven’t made it to the racetrack. Long story short, funding issues have prevented it. The car sits about 80% done, just needs a few motor bits, the transmission put in and our new tires put on, but it’s too late now. Adrenaline, our major sponsor, and all our other sponors, understand the situation. They’re disappointed, but they know we’ll be focused more than ever on getting out on the track for a run at Rookie of the Year in 2010. We’d like to thank them for all their continued support–and now the guys have the whole winter to get the car JUST right, so stay tuned for more updates!
Rolled it out of the shop–still plenty of work to do but figured it’d be nice to have it on four wheels at least. Still need to radius the wheelwells correctly.
